The Formation of WITN
The Women in Technology Network (WITN) has been active
and growing since 2002. Goldman Sachs started
the idea of the network, which was subsequently
taken up by a group of interested technologists.
Many events have been successfully held since
the inaugural meeting, with membership and interest
increasing steadily.
"The Women in Technology Network
is a network for women technologists in the
City, sharing experiences and knowledge in order
to facilitate professional
success and enjoyment"
The steering committee has representatives from
CSFB, Citigroup, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch,
Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs with others due
to join shortly. The committee organizes events
approximately once a quarter and committee members
ask their employers to take it in turns to host
formal events, plus informal events are organised
several times a year in pubs / wine bars with members
paying their own way.
